The Big Deal competition: case study for the best law students in Serbia and the region

The Big Deal project was created with the aim of providing law students with a unique and practical way to acquire new knowledge and learn essential practical skills within corporate law, all under guidance of leading lawyers from Serbia and neighbouring countries.

JPM Janković Popović Mitić law firm, the creator and coordinator of the Big Deal project, in cooperation with leading law firms from the region, offers law students a unique opportunity to experience common legal and commercial issues through simulation, resolving legal and commercial issues in highly realistic conditions.

The Big Deal project has been running for the past seven years, the last three being international competitions involving number of countries. This makes the competition quite attractive to participating students, as they engage in common learning experience and socialise throughout duration of the months-long project. The new knowledge and skills acquired by the students during the project are key for their further profiling and understanding of the profession they have chosen to work in after completion of their undergraduate studies.

Experienced lawyers from Serbia and the region share their knowledge and experience with the students, and assist them in preparation and execution of the transaction in most optimal manner. The Big Deal project is specific in that all communication between lawyers, mentors and student teams is in English.

The semifinals and finals of this year's Big Deal project will take place at the end of the year in Belgrade. The best students in the case study will be rewarded with three months of practical experience at JPM Janković Popović Mitić law firm, with the possibility of further employment.
