Hyatt Builds Youth Career

Candidat pour le Grand Prix de la CCIFS dans la catégorie RSE

Hyatt Builds Youth Career is a project that was born from the corporate social responsibility program, Hyatt Thrive (web site - www.thrive.hyatt.com), namely from the pillar that refers to personal education and career development, where young people have the opportunity to use their academic knowledge in a business environment. So, the goal is to provide professional training for young people that will help them in finding employment.

Besides the opportunity to train around thirty young people annually who might find their future career in the hospitality business, our benefit is also in having the chance of finding quality colleagues who could get a chance to work the hotel after completing the training program. During the practice, the most important part is the fulfillment of the individual plans for this four-month training syllabus. The practice is done in the following departments: Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Front Office, Regency Club, Bell Desk, SPA center Olympus Reception, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Division, Kitchen, Engineering and Security.

Training plans are made for each practitioner in accordance with the specific positions’ jobs descriptions. In addition to the monthly meetings with the General Manager where we monitor their development and satisfaction with the achieved goals, trainees receive a questionnaire to evaluate the effectiveness of learning at the end of the program. Also, the effectiveness of each candidate is evaluated by their mentor at the end of the program and appropriate feedback is given. To date (2012 to 2016) a total of 190 students have successfully completed their professional training in different departments and divisions of the hotel, and 53 of them were given the opportunity to work at our hotel after finishing praxis.
